I photographed London in 4 days, instead of purchasing new gear!
I sold some old gear, and looked at my account and was thinking, what new gear to get, Lenses, Filters, Cards or else, but after a few days I was thinking: HELL NO, I WANT TO TRAVEL SOMEWHERE AND TAKE PHOTOS! then London came in mind, winter in europe here London is always mild.
First the planing, I am a bit of a nerd, so all is planed to death… flight, train other tickets.
But also where to go and where to shoot, sun up and down, blue hour period….
Day 1:
I arrived in Victoria station around lunch, it was raining, so I took the tube further out to the hotel in Notting Hill, to drop my luggage and just carry my camera backpack.
Back in the tube - to Westminster - Big Ben and Themsen was first setup - with 10 stop filter and longexposure.
Canera settings: 24mm full frame, f4.0, ISO 100, 10 stop filter, 30 sekonds.
Next up Leake Street Arches, a tunnel under Waterloo station, where grafitti can be made, there are so much street art, it is just to walk around and explore, the smell of sweet tobacco and alcohol is a part.
Now it the time changed into “Blue Hour” back to Themsen, same shoot as before, wauu I love blue hour the cold sky and warm lights from the buildings.
Canera settings: 46mm full frame, f48, ISO 100, 0,5 sekonds.
Next, rush up on the bridge, to get the old lamp post with the skyline in background, a classic shot, but I wanted in my portofolie.
Last but not least ending the evening of the first half day with London Eye, why not when close by, and only 500 meter walk.
Back to the hotel with the camera full of pictures, get some dinner and edit some photos 📸
END OF DAY 1, NEXT DAYS TO COME 📸 Stay tuned.
